My Story
Hi there!
I was born in Lebanon, brought up in Sierra Leone but now live in Oxfordshire with my husband, Daniel.
I have always loved cooking, especially Lebanese food and by starting Alissar’s Kitchen, I hope more people will be able to taste and hopefully enjoy authentic home-made Lebanese food. My dear grandmother taught me her famous recipes back when we spent time together in my mountain village - that’s me in the black and white picture, aged 11, with my brother with my grandmother preparing food.
In my culture, eating food is a social activity, to be enjoyed with conversation and lots of laughter with friends and family - I hope you can do the same.

Our ingredients
Where possible, I only use authentic Lebanese ingredients. I personally bring in items from Lebanon or locally produced product available within a maximum of 10 miles from my kitchen in Standlake. This all ensures the best taste and freshness for all my dishes.

When the food arrives with you we aim to make sure it is hot [where appropriate] and ready to eat so please specify the time you would like your food delivered
A Sustainable Business Aiming for Minimal Waste
Your food will be delivered in fully compostable packaging.
The bowls and lids are made from heavy-duty, premium quality board (sourced from managed plantations) giving our packaging superior stability and quality insulation. The bowls and lids are coated with PLA, a bioplastic made from plants, not oil.
The greaseproof paper for your shawarmas is made from high-quality 39gsm chlorine-free paper from sustainable sources.
The tubs and lids we use for your dips and sauces are made from renewable sugarcane pulp, a by-product of the sugar refining industry. Both can be put in your food waste collection and again are fully compostable
The bags we deliver your food in are produced from unbleached, sustainable paper materials.
Legal Requirements and Providing a Safe Business
I have passed both
CPD certified Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety for Catering qualification.
UK’s Food Standards Agency “Food Allergy and Intolerance Training.
