Fattoush Salad

£8.00

In our traditional Lebanese fattoush salad, we combine a colourful medley of ingredients to create a refreshing burst of flavours. We carefully blend the crispness of fresh lettuce, juicy pomegranate seeds and refreshing cucumber slices with a unique combination of herbs, each playing a role in enhancing the overall taste and texture of this exquisite dish. This is topped with pieces of toasted Lebanese bread and drizzled with Lebanese sourced pomegranate syrup.

The consensus is that this classic Middle Eastern salad originated in the region that is now Lebanon (specifically northern Lebanon). The word "fattoush" is derived from the Arabic word "fatteh," which means "crumbs" in reference to the crispy pieces of toasted or fried bread that are a key ingredient in the salad. Lebanese farmers, legend tells us, would fry left over pitta bread scraps and to make their salad they would throw in the fried bread with whatever herbs and in season vegetables they could find.
